New Youtube videos + Black Gyaru Channel

I know I never properly mentioned the Black Gyaru channel on here aside from it's mini presence on the left side of my blog but here is the chance. I am actually a part of the Black Gyaru channel and there, we have a few selected lovely ladies from the black gyaru of the world fb group participate in creating helpful videos for those who seek advice, tips, or tutorials focusing on none other than BLACK gals (lol duh). There's been a need for something like this for quite some time as well as the group, so I'm so proud to be apart of this project  (☆^ー^☆) It's been active for a couple months and right now I have only 2 videos up on there but I'm editing a few more right now for the future. If you like what you see on there, please support us! We would really like to do giveaways, host contests, and whatnot but we need more views to help gain money for those so the more you watch, the sooner there will be a giveaway! Here's my latest video on my wigs.

I also did another one talking about my goals for the channel and a gyaru tag right before filming this one so you can watch it as well if you'd like :)

Another cool announcement is that I started making videos on my main channel again, TheLovelyIfy :D I know it's been a damn minute since I put anything on there, but now that I'm trying to get back into the swing of things, you will be seeing more from me soon. My mom the other day found my daddy's old tripod he used to use when he filmed our family albums growing up and so she let me have it for my videos! It's way sturdier than my old Targus one that piece of shit. So now, it will be way less of a pain to figure out some complex way of putting my camera on top of stuff with duct tape (ノ>▽<。)ノ I did do that for that last video actually, it was a hot ass mess! But here's the video I uploaded today on my main channel.

I am still so mad that they couldn't have chosen a better thumbnail of this video because in the beginning I look way better >:X Fucking A! Oh well. But I did cool little effects with my video editor just playing around. Not sure if every vlog will be that way but we'll see, it may depend on the event or how I look. I thought the ice skating bit was perfect for it though haha! But yeah, if you guys would please support me on my main channel and also the Black Gyaru channel, that would really truly mean a lot to me! I have a really cool video I worked diligently on all night yesterday and it is nearly done. That may be uploaded on Monday on my main channel and I will definitely post it on here for you guys to see. That's all I have to report on for now though. See you all soon!

  1. I'm not much of a fan of the black gyaru channel despite being black myself. It comes off as a racist thing.  I know its hard for black gals and we need specific tutorials for *us* but how would we feel if there was an asian gal channel or a white gal channel. We would feel upset and call it racism. I'm not saying the channel is not necessary but a different name would be nice. I feel the same with black gyaru facebook groups.

  2. @ Katie k I don't know how the name rascist were already black and styles are suppose to represent black culture in more expressive way. We Weren't affended when found out about the subculture (yamanba/mamba). . .at least I wasn't bc we finally we had another culture liked us and are style . . I guess we change it to African-American gayaru to be abit specific but now a days alot of us of african descent are mixed and we usually claim the more better/exotic/unique of race stereotype. Or We can have symbolic name like "Mixed Chocolate Gals/gyaru. . .Cocoa Gals. . .Godiva GALs." Criticizium we probably be that we isolated are self into a group for only African descented gal group . . .but we can open to a wider audience and links to other gyaru channels and have a internationally gyaru forum. But noticed that alot societies like to be isolated from one another b/c of the common interest if you know why I mean and it b/c ignorance and fear.

It's not racist, it's a fact. We're black gyaru's, same way how there's the Latin American Gal Comm.  People are so sensitive when it comes to race these days that they overreact to everything. If you go out looking for racism you'll find it.  The whole reason for the group was because black gals in particular were getting bad rep for not being as skilled at a style originally created for asians, hence why there is no asian or white gal channel since they find it slightly easier to adapt to the styles.  Whereas us black girls have not only and entirely different facial structure but skin tone to adjust to the style too.  We're simply trying to help each other out, not exclude anyone based on race because that's just ridiculous.

  4. I've been subscribed since the first video :)
I think the channel is a great idea.

I don't find it "racist," but then again I'm probably biased. When the channel eventually gets into hair and makeup advice, it will probably be pretty specific to black gals. Fashion, wigs, and nail art can be applied to anyone, however. Considering this, I guess I can understand how some people may be offended by the channel name =\

I think it's a great idea for making these tutorials more accessible for black gals or aspiring black gals, so I'm more in favor than against :) it IS pretty hard to find helpful tutorials for us.

  5. How the fuck is it racist wtf?! It's just a channel for one specific group of gals to help out a fucking minority. I dont understand how there is any favouritism going on either, it's just a group for girls(and guys) that like gyaru, but aren't white or asian and therefore can't exactly do the things non-black races do because we have, per example, a different nose shape :l

A white or asian gyaru group would be a bit pointless because there are A LOT of them and you see them out in the open. Hell, I didn't even know 95% of this group was born before this :l
Oh my god THIS IS WHY I DO NOT LIKE PEOPLE </3

Your argument is invalid, because if you're mixed, you're both of those, but usually mixed black girls still identify as black because THEIR SKIN AND HAIR WILL STILL BE IN THE 'BLACK' CATEGORY. Cause you know how non-sleek hair weighs more in your genes than perfectly sleek hair and dark colours top lighter colours.

If you're black and azn, your skin is still darker than if you werent mixed with a black person and you look more black than azn, BUT IF YOU /STILL/ CLAIM TO BE AZN INSTEAD OF BLACK you're stupid imo :3 I've got some chinese blood running through my veins, but you dont see me running around saying I'm chinese? :l
Fuck, my sister is mixed, but she's not suddenly a white girl. :l

We cant just go out and buy a blonde wig and it'll most likely look nice. No, we have to struggle with undertones and a lot of other junk to make sure we dont look dumb in the things we wear, be it wigs or clothing.

  7. Like all of the comments below this channel and group was created to help black girls find their place in gyaru and find a place where they can get help specifically catered to them! Being a part of the channel and group, I wish i had something like this when I started gyaru!  Love the videos Crystal!

  8. I can assure you that the intention of both the channel and the gorup both were never for the idea to place black gals above all others which would essentially deem us as racist. But if you were to actually take part in the group rather than look from the outside in, you would know that but since you clearly haven't it's understandable you and I'm sure a few others may come to that conclusion. We are, believe it or not, a minority in this community and because of that, is it not fair for us to guide one another to give a better level of improvement so that we can feel equal to the rest of the majority? If you pay attention to the actual content of our videos and hear what we talk about, you'll find out that we are in no way shape or form saying that we are better than the rest, period. If I sound at all upset, that's because I'm tired of seeing people instantly jump to the conclusion that groups such as these are formed based on a negative purpose when really, it is one of the last hopes the western gyaru community has as far as showing sisterhood so don't think that is what we are about.

  9. Adding on to what Naoki said, our channel has videos currently up there right now that can help the masses, however of course they are going to pertain to gals of African Descent otherwise the purpose of the entire channel will be defeated. There's no use in making things complicated by making up a new name because the Black Gyaru Community is exactly what it says. Why is no one targeting the Latin Gyaru Community? Are they practicing favoritism? Are they racist? No. So leave us be, please.

  10. I honestly can careless at this point if people choose to feel upset by the presence of that channel. If they had any common sense, they would dig deep and find out what the true reason of our purpose is and it is not to promote any form of prejudices against anybody. Glad you like it though.

  11. Thank you doll! You know, if this was created way back when I first started out in gyaru, who KNOWS how amazing I would already look by now having had so much guidance from fellow black gaijin gyaru such as myself and gaining immense amounts of knowledge about how to do my make up through them catering to my features and not some gal magazine that typically only concerns that of Japanese/Asian features like...I'd probably be way ahead of the look I currently have but this is exactly why I'm glad this is all happening now so that the new gen gals will get that chance and I don't want it to be taken away from anybody who feels otherwise because their reasons are invalid as far as I'm concerned.
